This is a very interesting article featured in Web MD explaining some of the differences between male pattern baldness and female pattern baldness. According to Ted Daly, MD, a dermatologist from Nassau University Medical Center on Long Island, who specializes in the treatment of female hair loss “Female pattern balding goes around the whole top of the head — it’s diffuse — whereas men lose it on the temple, the crown, the bald spot in the back,” says Daly. Watching James Nesbitt on GMTV was an interesting experience. The talented Irish actor never seems to be out of a job and is one of the very few British character actors around. Part of his character is his thinning hair. It suits him. I watched an interview with him a couple of years ago where he said that he regretted losing his hair (OK heard that one before), however it has enabled him to be cast in so many interesting parts where his receding hairline was part of his character. I was fortunate enough to catch the end of Live from Studio 5 recently when the hot topic of the day was hair loss and hair transplants in particular.
